Thoughtfully chosen. Naturally beautiful. Kinder to the planet.

At Fettle Flowers Bromley, sustainability is at the heart of every funeral tribute we create. Our arrangements are designed to honour a loved one beautifully, while reducing unnecessary waste and avoiding the single-use materials traditionally used in funeral floristry.

Dried & Preserved Flowers

We specialise in dried and preserved funeral flowers that are designed to last beyond the day of the service. Instead of being discarded after a few days, our floral tributes can be carefully divided into smaller keepsake arrangements for family and friends to take home, treasure and remember. Our signature funeral tributes are created using dried and preserved flowers, chosen for their natural beauty, longevity and lower-waste qualities.

Unlike fresh flowers, dried and preserved flowers do not require constant hydration, water reservoirs or traditional water-based mechanics. They can be enjoyed for months or even years, making them a more meaningful and sustainable alternative to flowers that are used for only one day.

Why we use them

• Longer lasting than traditional fresh funeral flowers
• Can be kept, shared or repurposed after the service
• Require no ongoing water
• Reduce floral waste
• Create soft, timeless and natural designs
• Ideal for memorial keepsakes and remembrance arrangements

Plastic-Free Floristry

We are committed to creating funeral flowers without single-use plastics wherever possible. Traditional funeral flowers often rely on plastic trays, plastic-backed mechanics, cellophane, synthetic ribbons and other disposable materials. At Fettle Flowers, we carefully consider every element of our designs, choosing natural, reusable, recyclable or compostable alternatives wherever we can. Our approach is simple: beautiful flowers should not come at the cost of unnecessary plastic waste.

Water-Free

Because our arrangements are built around dried and preserved flowers, they do not require water-filled bases, soaked foam or hydration systems. This makes our funeral flowers especially suited to natural burials, memorial services, crematoriums and families looking for a more sustainable tribute. Benefits of water-free designs • No water reservoirs • No soaked floral foam • Easier to transport and handle • Reduced mess and waste • Longer-lasting flowers after the funeral • Better suited for keepsake arrangements

Foam-Free Designs

Our arrangements are created without traditional floral foam.

Floral foam has long been used in funeral floristry to hold stems in place, but it is a single-use material and is not aligned with our sustainable approach. Instead, we use considered design techniques and alternative mechanics that allow us to create elegant, secure arrangements while reducing environmental impact.

Where a supportive design medium is needed, we look for more eco-conscious alternatives, including natural fibre-based or compostable floral media where suitable. Some newer floral media products are made from natural materials such as volcanic basalt rock with bio-based binders, or natural coconut coir with compostable binders, offering florists alternatives to traditional foam.
